Halloween 2011!

Halloween was lots of fun! Me and Knowley went to a work Halloween party, and then that evening when Brad got home from school we went to our ward Trunk-Or-Treat, and then we went to the annual Hemingway's Party! We passed out candy at the trunk or treat, and played games and had great food at the Hemingways!

Brad was a cowboy riding a bull!
I was a cowgirl!
Knowley was a butterfly, but later on became a ladybug because she blew the diaper and it came up the back :)

Can't wait for next year! I love Halloween!

She laughs!

Knowley laughs! This is the first of many giggles to come..but Brad and I just love it when we hear it. She has only really laughed 3 times so far....

Knowley is growing!

Just some pictures I have taken recently of the little babe.....

Look I grab my toes! All the time!
Mommy bought me lady bug pajamas!
I love my tongue! I like to stick it out all the time!
Really mom? Another picture? lil pumpkin!
Me happy! My sweet smile....

Nashville Zoo!

While Knowley and I were in Tennessee we went to the Nashville Zoo! We got to see lots of animals (in which Knowl won't remember) but, we had a great time with my family! Its been years since I went to the zoo, so it was fun to see all the exotic animals!

Here are the elephants! They are so big!
The pretty Flamingos! So cool to see a ton of them together!
Meerkats! These animals are the coolest ever! They love attention and just posed for all the cameras taking pictures! They are way cute!
Can't forget the Monkeys! You know you see monkeys on TV but in person they are so extravagant. They fall from the trees, limb to limb like its nothing! So awesome.
Here are some birds that are so vibrant and blue!
Hopefully next time we go to the Zoo Knowley will enjoy it as much as I did! :)

Knowley plays with toys!

Date: October 3, 2011

Here is a picture of Knowley first engaging with a toy! She actually held onto it and of course it went straight to the mouth to be chewed on! It was so cool to see her playing with it! She truly is growing to fast. I love these little milestones she has been going through lately, so fun to watch her grow up! (but she can stay little awhile longer....!)

7 Peaks Fun and Blessing Day!

So four weeks after Knowley was born a bunch of family came in town for Knowley's Blessing day and everyone went to Seven Peaks the day before. It was very warm and Knowley did not swim (she did not like that cold water) but her and I just enjoyed sitting under an umbrella watching everyone else have fun! Brad and I went into the wave pool together and that was a lot of fun! I love waterparks! Next year when we go hopefully Knowley can enjoy it!

That Sunday we had Knowley's blessing. She looked so pretty in her dress (which is the dress both my sister and I wore on our blessing days!) It was so great to have family in town and to have all the support of our new little family. We are so blessed. We are so in love with our little girl...

KNOWLEY IS HERE! My birthing story...

Knowley Madison Cox

Born: July 4th 2011
Weight: 8 lbs 2 oz
Time of Birth: 10:53pm

She is here! Knowley Was born on July 4th! I started my labor on July 3rd around 1:00pm. My family was coming into town and they had just gotten here at 12:30pm! Yes, 30 minutes before I started having contractions. My contractions started as the normal Braxton Hick contractions, but then I started having pain in my lower back with the contractions, and I knew that was not the normal. So I started pushing through and the contractions felt like a stab of lightning in my back every 5 minutes. I started keeping track of my contractions after about 4 hours of having them. I used the computer (they have a website that helps you keep track of your contractions!) that was very convenient. Well I just kept having them so finally around 2:00am.....12 hours after having contractions I decided to go into the hospital (contractions were still 5 minutes apart and getting worse!) They put me on a monitor, because when they checked me when I went in I was only 2 cm dilated. They monitored me for 2 hours and I was still having contractions every 5 minutes, but I was not progressing, I was still only 2cm! So they sent me home to keep laboring...they wanted to send me home with high pain killers (but I can't take those they make me very very LOOPY) So they suggested taking tylenol PM to try to get some sleep (because I had not slept yet!) So I cam home and Brad went out to get my the Tylenol PM. I took it, and slept a whole 2 hours, still having contractions every 5 minutes, so I was half asleep and still felt the lightning strike my back every 5 minutes! So its July 4th and I am just pushing through the contractions all day and I am hoping I have little Knowley on this day! My family is all just hanging out and such and I just keep walking through the contractions. Brad and I decided to go take our daily walk to get things moving faster, that was the longs 1.5 miles I have ever walked and it was SO HOT. So when I got back my fingers were SO SWOLLEN and I could not even get my rings off. But I used soap and got them off. The walking definitely got things moving more. When I came home, I went to the restroom and lost my mucus plug! So I knew things were getting more real. My mom started making dinner or putting together the BBQ--I mean it was July 4th! She knew she better getting moving on it because of the condition I was in. I just continued walking back in forth from my room to the living room through the contractions. Well mom finished dinner and Brandon and Brad went to work out and Brandon came back, but he informed me my husband decided to jog home (at this point I knew things were really progressing because the contractions were VERY INTENSE!) I was like "oh great, he had to jog home and I am in active labor! Awesome!" So he finally shows up and my mom says Brad "You need to get in the shower!" So he takes a shower and I am still handling the contractions even though they are very bad and said "Okay, Brad you can eat dinner" So he started eating and was taking forever, and he had some corn on the cob left and I was like okay Brad I think we really need to go to the hospital you are going to have to finish that corn later. So we load up in the car (the hospital is only 2 minutes from my house) We get there and of course as I am walking in I am contracting every 2minutes, at a 45 second length. So I had to keep pausing. I get up to labor and deliver on the 3rd floor, the nurse checks me and I am 7 CM DILATED! They are like, wow, this baby is coming. So they throw me into a room, I get into the gown, they asked if I wanted an epidural, at this point the back pain was SO bad, I was like "yes, yes! Please!" So the anesthesiologist was already on the floor and he finished up another women and came right into my room. While waiting for that they were putting an IV in me and rolled my vein on my left hand so they had to move to my right hand. They started my antibiotics and fluids (I was positive for Strep B). They then came in and gave me the epidural, and truthfully it didn't hurt because I was more focused on breathing through the 2 contractions I had while they were putting it in. I remember the cold feeling going through my body but thats it. After the epidural they laid me down and got me all settled with the heart and contraction monitors and the relief from the epidural was AMAZING. My legs got all warm, and I felt so relaxed...it was great! I still felt the contractions but the pain level was a 2 out of 10 rather than a 10 out of 10. The nurse then left the room and said she would be back in an hour to check me. So while the time was passing by we could see fireworks going off from my window in labor and delivery. So I was watching those and so was Brad and my mom, and I was listening to Brad's iPod too. Just feeling really good at this point. The nurse comes back in and says I am fully dilated! So at this point I was 10cm but my water still hadn't broke. They finally called my doctor and he came in, and they weren't sure what to do because I had only had 1 bag of antibiotic and I was supposed to have 2. This was at 10:20pm. They decided well, lets break her water and just get things going, because we want her to have a 4th of July baby too. haha. So the doctor broke my water, and barely any fluid came out (my amniotic fluid had been low through most of my pregnancy) and the doctor said okay lets do a few pushes...Well I do one push and the doctor says woah! Lets gear up she is a good pusher. So I pushed through 4 more contractions and miss Knowley arrived in this world at 10:53pm! I was smiling and pushing, it was wonderful! She was so warm laying and wet laying on my chest. I will never forget that feeling! It was amazing! Hearing her little cry for the first time was great too. They let me hold her for 30 minutes on my chest, while they stitched my up and such (I had to get an episiotomy). They then took her off down to the nursery, and Brad went with her. They also moved me down to the 2nd floor for recovery. They gave little Knowley a bath and more ...not really sure because Brad was in there and I wasn't, but they did the normal routine stuff they do on newborns. Finally around 1am they brought her back to me with 2 little bows in
her hair. A red and blue one, it was so precious! She was absolutely perfect! I did not like my stay in the hospital so a couple of days later when we came home it was great!

Side note: Before they broke my water my mom asked if the baby had lots of hair, and the nurse said she could not tell since my water was not broken, but usually mexican babies and such she can usually tell if they have lots of hair even if the water is not broken. Well when they broke my water and they saw all her hair, the nurse said "oh you are having a mexican baby"! It was too funny!

1 hour before Knowley came!

Last Pregnancy Photo! 38 weeks...

Well below is a picture of me at 38 weeks pregnant! Since I did not update my blog then, I will just try to explain how I felt.

Being 38 weeks pregnant was SOOO hard! I slept on the couch because my hips hurt so bad, by this time my maternity clothes did not even fit me, and to top it off I just felt like a whale! I loved feeling little Knowley inside of me and to feel that special bond between her and myself. I walked everyday the last 6 weeks of my preg
nancy in hopes to be somewhat in shape for labor and also to induce labor! They say it works! Truthfully by this point I was really frustrated and just wanted to see my little Knowley Madison in my arms....

Lately...

So much happening lately...and time is flying by!

Well winter semester is over for my husband and spring semester begins in 2 weeks! He plans on going to school year round till December 2012 when he will finally graduate (hopefully) YAY! He should graduate as an officer also, since he is doing ROTC in school too. He got a job about a month ago with a gravestone company--he seems to be enjoying it! He is also still doing the National Guard things one weekend a month. Lets just say he is always really busy! This summer he will work full time, and take classes at night (2 of those nights will be in downtown SLC) the other ones will be in Provo.

For me. I am still working with Goal Zero full time as a graphic designer, and I will continue to work for Goal Zero part-time from home after the baby comes. Of course I will take about a 6 weeks maternity week, than get back into the work groove (from home at least!). I am 29.5 weeks pregnant and so excited to almost be in the 30's but at the same time I can't believe she will be her in a couple of months! Ah..time has gone by so fast. I can't wait to meet her and her beautiful self, and squeeze her, kiss her, all those things moms like to do :) I can't wait to be a mom, and have a whole different outlook on life! Brad and I have enjoyed the last 3 years together alone, but we can't wait to be parents!

Its fun to see Brads reaction on everything, as in my growing tummy, and seeing/feeling her kick. His smile is so sweet, and he always says i'm still looking good (even though I don't feel that way) but that comment helps me with my big tummy! Truthfully, I still feel kind of small for 30 weeks considering the other women I see at 30 weeks and there bellys. This worries me, that she isn't growing and such, but every time I go to the doctor my uterus seems to be growing just fine, I am tall and such, so I am just carrying her different than other women would.

I am having my 5th ultrasound on Tuesday, because a couple of weeks ago when I had an ultrasound, they found some fluid around Knowley's heart, the doctor seems to think there is not much to worry about and it should go away. Tuesday we will see if it has gone away or not, and if it hasn't we will have to look more into it. This ALL worries me so much, but all I can do is hope for the best, and pray that it has gone away! Also, my amniotic fluid is low. Not low low, but just average low. So I always worry about that too--worry worry. Thats all I seem to do lately. Especially if she isn't moving much and such, ahhhh, I wish she would just move all the time so I wouldn't have to worry about her.

Well things are good and crazy here in Utah. Brad and I barely see each other--only in the evenings, and when school starts back here soon, it won't even be that :( But thats okay--he has to do what he has to do, and same with me. We are just getting through things day by day.

One last note--can't wait to start buying, and putting together the nursery :) This will be happening in the near future! Can't wait!

(sorry no pics, just an update!)
